DI FARA PIZZA

The master makes me a pie.
The Jazzman was truly honored that after not eating at Dom's spot in Midwood for many years (The Jazzman was a regular LONG before Dom became a pizza rock-star), Dom turned around and looked at me and said- "Hey- where you been?"
Then proceeded to make me a PERFECT pie. balance of 5 cheeses (Buffala, Fresh Mozz, Fiore di Latte, Grand Padana, Parmiggiano Reggiano- oh yeah), san marzanos (raw on the round pies, from a cooked sauce on the squares), crust was thick/thin-ish difara style but surprisingly great tasting this particular evening, EVERYTHING IN BALANCE.
Still the best pie in NYC proper by a landslide.

SUPERIOR fried fish just south of Red's Eats on Rt. 1 in Wiscasset, ME.
SUPER CLEAN, non-hydrog oils, best Maine Fried Fish in Mid-Coast ME.
Air-conditioned in summa, features clean bathrooms.
A family favorite!

Old school Sicilian specialty restaurant in Brooklyn.
also serves a DEFINITIVE Brooklyn Rice Ball w Marinara, Fresh Riccota, and Parmigiano.
And Artie Bucco from the Sopranos seems to always be eating there when i'm there (the actor who played him not the actual character silly).

Tiramisu, Creme Anglais, some other creamy dessert thang, a bowl of homemade whipped cream and a hot pot of melted chocolate. take as much as you like and then pass the whole rig to the next table. wow.

PEPE'S APIZZA NAPOLETANA

Large Pie Red with Muzz and 1/2 Anchovie.
New Haven Style Napoletana Abeetz in the new Fairfield location.
Absolutely top notch pie.

Size of pie, red or white, muzz no muzz, toppings.
One can't always make it to Sally's or Pepe's on Wooster St, can one?

Where to even start- this family restaurant completely SLAYED it. potato ravioli with speck, some penne like pasta with fresh truffles and speck, and the masterpiece bolognese type meat (pork?veal?delish.) red sauce scene- game changing meal. Truly UNSTOPPABLE.
Dessert pictures to follow (family style with a huge hot pot of melted chocolate being passed from table to table to ladel onto Tiramisu, Cream Anglais, etc. all in big cake pans- could end one's day.).
Shout out to my Drummer Ben's genius Italian friend who steered us to this tourist-free Tratt.!!!

Cakes Display Rig.
Harold's will serve you a delicious, diner/deli-esque TUB of Matzoh Ball Soup with noodles, carrots, the whole deal.
And a pastrami sandwich with pounds of meat on it.
A pickle bar, and all that deli/diner jazz.
The cakes are for looking at, i do believe.
A great stop near Newark Airport- convenient for the traveling musician (it's about 15 minutes further south off the Jersey Turnpike exit whatever).
